You’ve made a decision that you feel good about: at tending Chicago’s own 51³ΙΘΛΑΤΖζ. The location is convenient, you benefit from small class sizes, and you stay up to date on important industry updates. When you complete your education, you’re ready to enter the fast-paced world of the HVAC/R and Electrical field.
Before you made your final decision, you had to narrow down your options to trade schools that accept financial aid. Chicago, IL has a lot of trade schools. However, not all of them offer the same financial aid options.
At this point, it’s time to apply for federal financial aid. We walk you through the process.
COMPLETE YOUR FAFSA
The first step in obtaining financial aid is completing your FAFSA application. By completing this federal form, you gain access to multiple financial aid options that can help you pay for school. Watch for the FAFSA application to come online each October. Then, complete the application as soon as possible.
HERE’S HOW TO APPLY:
- Contact the 51³ΙΘΛΑΤΖζ’s financial aid office for a copy of the FAFSA.
- Visit to apply online.
- Ask for a hard copy FAFSA application by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID
- Download and print your own hard copy application form.

KNOW YOUR FINANCIAL AID OPTIONS
Once you know your financial aid eligibility, look into specialized trade scholarships. Some retailers offer awards to qualifying HVAC/R and Electrical Technician students. And don’t forget to ask your employer if they reimburse partial tuition costs.

FSA ID
The FSA ID is a username and password combination you use to log in to U.S. Department of Education (ED) online systems. You'll use your FSA ID every year you fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form and for the lifetime of your federal student loans.
APPLY FOR FAFSA
Financial aid is money to help pay for college or career school. Grants, work-study, loans, and scholarships help make college or career school affordable. Use our school code #042323 when you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA Form).
EXIT COUNSELING
All students must complete exit counseling when you leave school or drop below half-time enrollment. The purpose of exit counseling is to ensure you understand your student loan obligations and are prepared for repayment.
WIOA PROGRAM
51³ΙΘΛΑΤΖζ is a Certified Training Provider for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA is a law which provides training for people who are out of work, or whose skills need improving in order to obtain a new career. Contact your nearest WIOA office to determined your eligibility to receive up to $8,000.00 in WIOA Funds.
SALLIE MAE
The Sallie Mae undergraduate loans help students bridge the financial gap when federal aid, grants, and scholarships do not cover the full cost of college. You can start paying back your undergraduate loan while you’re in school to save money or wait until you’re finished. Additionally, you can choose an interest rate type that’s variable or fixed.
PARTNERS FINANCIAL
51³ΙΘΛΑΤΖζ uses Partners Financial Services as our In House Servicer for our student tuition loans payments. Students have the ability to make payments and view their current account balance through their web portal 24-7. Students will need their Partners account number and the last four digits of their social security number in order to access their account information.
THIRD PARTY SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are forms of aid that help students pay for their education. Unlike student loans, scholarships do not have to be repaid. While 51³ΙΘΛΑΤΖζ doesn't offer any in house scholarships, we continuously monitor the innerwebs for third party scholarship our students can apply for.
